Meitu Inc. Releases 2025 Annual Results: AI Transformation Drives Growth, Net Profit Up 64.7% YoY to 965 Million

March 27, 2026 — Meitu Inc. (1357.HK) announced its 2025 annual results: revenue from continuing operations reached RMB 3.86 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 28.8%. Adjusted net profit attributable to owners of the company totaled RMB 965 million, up 64.7% year-on-year, marking the company’s seventh consecutive year of growth.

The strong performance was primarily driven by the rapid rollout of AI Agents across Meitu’s product portfolio, which significantly boosted global paid subscriptions and accelerated revenue growth in its core photo, video and design businesses.


Meitu stated that amid the AI wave, the company is undergoing a comprehensive transformation: with technology shifting from individual models to a model container approach; products are evolving from utility apps to AI Agents; commercially, extending from subscriptions to token-based consumption; and organizationally, transitioning from a mature structure to an AI-driven innovation organization. 

 

Paying Subscribers Hit Record 16.91 Million

In 2025, Meitu’s photo, video and design segment maintained strong momentum, with revenue increasing 41.6% year-on-year to RMB 2.95 billion, accounting for 76.6% of total revenue and remaining the company’s largest revenue source.

 

The growth was fueled by a significant increase in paying subscribers. As of December 31, 2025, Meitu’s global paid subscribers reached a record 16.91 million, up 34.1% year-on-year, the subscription rate hits 6.1%.

Paying subscribers for products for leisure totaled 14.75 million, up 30.3% YoY, with a subscription rate of 5.9%. Flagship apps, including the Meitu app, BeautyCam, and Wink, were ranked among the top GenAI mobile apps globally in the latest industry rankings. In 2025, the Meitu app retained its position as China’s #1 photo retouching app by user base for the tenth consecutive year. BeautyCam attracted over 23 million new global users through its AI Wardrobe feature. Wink surpassed 40 million monthly active users worldwide.

 

Meitu is continuing to evolve its business model. Beyond subscriptions, users can also purchase additional tokens—units used to access AI features—on demand, or opt for one-time purchases of individual features.

 

Focusing on High-Value Use Cases

Monetization of Productivity Tools Continues to Strengthen

 

In 2025, Meitu’s productivity tools continued to improve in both product capability and monetization, accounting for 19% of revenue from photo, video and design products.

 

As of December 31, 2025, monthly active users of Meitu’s productivity tools reached 24 million , up 9.1% year-on-year. Paying subscribers reached 2.16 million, representing a 67.4% increase, with a subscription rate of 9%. All of the above figures reached all-time highs.

Meitu's Productivity Tools focus on high-value industry verticals such as e-commerce, talking video, and offline retail, empowering both everyday users and professional designers to efficiently produce high-quality, professional-grade content.

 

Designkit focuses on AI-powered e-commerce design workflows, helping merchants and creators produce product images and visual assets efficiently. Users can rely on professional AI agents to execute tasks, fine-tune results with manual editing tools, and save reusable workflows to enhance both efficiency and consistency. In 2025, Designkit established strategic partnerships with major global e-commerce players, including Alibaba, JD.com, and Amazon.

 

Kaipai and Vmake target AI-driven video production workflows. Kaipai focuses on sectors such as healthcare, education, beauty, insurance, and real estate, helping industry users create professional-grade talking videos. In 2025, Kaipai’s monthly active users nearly doubled, while paying subscribers tripled. Vmake targets the fitness and wellness sector, achieving rapid user growth in the U.S., and its annual recurring revenue (“ARR”) reached approximately US$3 million.

 

Multiple AI Features Went Viral Globally

Over 100 Million MAUs in Markets Outside of Mainland China

 

Meitu's global expansion reached a key strategic milestone in 2025.

 

As of 31 December 2025, Meitu's global monthly active users reached 276 million, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%. Among these, monthly active users in markets outside of mainland China exceeded 100 million, up 6.3% year-on-year.

 

Leveraging deep insights into global user preferences and strong execution, Meitu continued to launch viral, cross-market features in 2025, including 3D Figurine, AI Group Photo, and AI Snow. The Meitu app ranked No. 1 overall on the App Store in 52 countries and regions and topped category charts in 119 markets; BeautyCam reached No. 1 overall in 28 markets and led category rankings in 62; Wink ranked No. 1 overall in 2 markets and topped category charts in 25.

In the second half of 2025, growth in paying subscribers from markets outside of mainland China accelerated, with the majority of new subscribers coming from high-ARPU regions—such as Europe, the Americas, and East Asia—where subscription adoption is more mature.

 

The “AI Group Photo” feature drove the Meitu app’s MAU to a historical high and attracted over 3 million new active users from European markets. Furthermore, the “AI Snow” feature contributed to significant new user acquisition and enabled the Meitu app to top the category chart in the U.S. for the first time in history.

 

Meitu’s AI-native platform, RoboNeo, topped global app store rankings across overall and category charts in 26 countries and regions, demonstrating the global potential of our agent technology.

 

AI Agents Integrated into Productivity Workflows

Meitu AI Skills Launch on OpenClaw Ecosystem

 

Backed by continued R&D expenditure, Meitu is actively exploring new products and vertical opportunities. In 2025, R&D spending reached RMB 945 million, up 3.8% year-on-year.

 

AI Agents have now been integrated across most Meitu products, enabling scalable, AI-powered productivity workflows. These AI agents analyze user intent, decompose it into actionable tasks, and combine generative AI, intelligent workflows, and fine-tuned traditional editing tools to deliver highly accurate, efficient outcomes. This approach not only improves the user experience but also boosts monetization—for instance, the “Agent” feature within Designkit has quickly become the top driver of revenue growth, demonstrating strong commercial traction.

Meitu also recently launched its new Meitu CLI tool, with its first batch of AI Skills integrated into the OpenClaw ecosystem. Users can install these skills via ClawHub and access Meitu’s AI imaging capabilities directly through the CLI.

 

Meitu AI Skills currently provide eight core capability modules spanning major visual creation scenarios, including video motion transfer, image editing, image generation and design, image enhancement, AI Wardrobe, Image-to-Video, AI Resize, and AI Cutout—enabling users to meet diverse creative needs.
